I think front top end questions are the most difficult part of the DAT

search sama's sick PAT tutorial...and if you still think it's the hardest then I'll be surprised. I used to suck at it and after reading that post I miss 0-2 on that section regularly

yeah, check the tutorial. i personally felt the pattern folding was the hardest section, i guess because i was always pressed for time since it was the last section on the PAT portion of the test. FTE, definetely gets easier with practice though...once you get the gist of how to do each of the problems you will get better and better at it. remember when you first started cube counting? ha, and you probably get all 15 of those regularly now...so just keep at it, it'll get easier.

i agree....patterfolding is the most difficult

Pattern folding is definitely tough, but like people have said, it does get easier once you've gone through a zillion practice problems and can mentally re-arrange pieces of the cut out in your head...

Angles on the other hand... That's a whole other story.

I agree. I got worse at anglea as I practiced. I think I got all 15 angle problems wrong on the DAT bc I felt like I crushed everything else.

With TFE, its all about counting lines

i thought the top front end on the real thing was definitely easier than crack, much more similar to kaplan..
for pattern folding i would highly recommend cutting out any figures you have trouble with and folding them together to get a better sense of what goes where

In the beginning, I thought that tfe was the hardest. After a lot of practice( buy some legos and practice- it can help), I realized that the pattern was the most challenging. However on real DAT, angles were super hard. I totally guessed 8 questions, because all the answer choices were super close probably 1 degree difference (I could not even guess). Furthermore, I was not sure of about 1 key hole, 1 tfe, 2 pattern f. questions. I ended up with the score of 19. I was kinda pissed, because I thought that I could do better.

I have not taken the real DAT yet, but angles always kill me on CDP. I can never get pass a 9 or 10. Others section are pretty easy. I don't know, maybe my labtop is too small, I hope they blow up the angles on the real test.

lol i find the angles the most difficult.... impossible to tell the difference!

a lot of the TFE questions can be solved by looking at where the lines are

If anyone did really well on ranking angles, could you give us some advice and tips, PLZ!!
I follow "Barron review" advice, which seems to work well for acute angles, but the obtuse angles is what kills me. Thanks!

I think the title is something like "Barrons DAT..." Anyways, just go to the bookstore or find it on amazon first and then just look at the section on angles. Its like 2-3 pages.

The stuff they talk about is common sense, but its prette helpful.
