I took my DAT exam a while back and will be applying soon. I scored a 23AA but my breakdown is not that jaw dropping.

PAT 20
QR 21
RC 21
Bio 22
GC 28
OC 22
TS 23
AA 23

I have seen people with 22 on PAT and like 26 on RC. I didn't get the percentile, so i don't know how I stand. I feel my numbers are just average. Other people scored like 25 on BIO and what not. Do you think i should retake it? I have a hard time staying focused and studying for this.

Hi FmaFma5,

Your scores are very nice indeed and you have NO worries as far as your DAT scores are concerned. If you have a nice science GPA you should receive interviews from multiple schools. I would NOT take the DAT again, but spend time working on your personal statement and if you have not done so already do some community volunteer type service, more and more schools are looking for a more well rounded student.

It is always a good idea to contact the schools directly you are interested in attending and discuss you stats with them.

You should be very proud of your scores and accomplishment.

take care and wishing you the best on your journey to becoming a dentist.

Connauton only laughed because your scores are veryyyy good. If you do not get into dental school......it won't be because of your DAT scores! Awesome job, you should post a breakdown!
@orgoman22 gave some great advice as far as working on your personal statement and getting more experiences, it will only help your application!

@orgoman22 Thank you so much for your advice and I think I will definitely focus more on my community service and the personal statement now. I certainly used the DAT destroyer for Gen Chemistry, orgo, and Math. 🙂 Your advice means a lot to me.

@matardug I looked at your forum and wow you have a great breakdown and score. I will post a resource breakdown soon! I will check out the advice for personal statement too. Thank you 🙂

To get a feel for how strongly you did on the DAT you should be looking at average scores of accepted students in the ADEA guide to dental schools, not comparing your scores against the ones you see on SDN (many of which are outliers).

I have a good outline for your personal statement, if interested email me and I will send it to you.

I'm sorry, just thought you were trolling around You have a fantastic score, would never consider retaking with them!

You must be joking... Don't worry about your DAT, just work on your personal statement and dental related experience. Apply early and smart, you will be fine!
