Hi,
I have a question for all of you who have taken the DAT. Once you took the DAT, did you immediately get a printout of your results and score? Did the printout fit onto a full sized peice of paper (like it was created in microsoft word)? Also, if you wanted to get additional copies of your score from the DAT people, would the mail the score to you or email it (in microsoft word format)?
The reason I ask these questions is that I have a friend who claims he took the DAT (without studying), scored 23-25 (is that 99th percentile?), and then produced a shady looking score sheet.
I know I may be a bad friend for questioning him but I don't want him to turn out like another Mark Hacking (the dude who lied to his wife and fam about acceptance to med school, then killed his wife).

wowsers dude. Yea you get a nice little printout right at the test center. They stamped mine too. Hope your friend doesn't murder anyone. Be careful! 😉

Yes, you do recieve a single sheet printout that looks like it was done on Microsoft word. The printout is so lame, if it wasn't for that little stamped seal on the corner, any goofball can forge his scores and brag to his friends how he scored a 23/25.

I would be a little suspicious too if one of my friends produced a microsoft word document saying their scores. I don't think it's jealousy. 🙄

Look for the stamp from the testing center - mine is in the bottom, right hand corner of the document and the test monitor initialed the seal as well - that should tell you if it is 'authentic' or not. The score sheet actually looks rather similar to the print out from the TopScore cd.

the "dat people" do not send the scores via email. there is a print out paper they "dat people" giv you after you are done with the test that shows your scores and percentiles for each of the section. there is also a stamp on it that looks official and would be very hard to forge. does the paper he showed you havea stamp? if so, i am not sure about this, but i think it should be a perforated stamp as well as an ink stamp.. so it is perforated (meaning the paper has been sealed in a 3d fastion)? anyways, if he is lying, then that is too bad for him that he didn't get those scroes. but if he is telling you the truth, then good for him..he is not only an honest person but he got good scores. 🙂 either way you should not be jealous, but a little skeptacism , escpcailly if not displayed, can't hurt.

There is your answer. Find any $20 press plates and green paper nearby as well?

he could of scanned the real one into his computer so he could email a copy to friends, family, whoever doesnt live close enough for him to show the real one

Stay away from your friend! Break into his house and remove all sharp objects or other would-be weapons from his house to protect his family! This guy is a psycho!

no, in fact they will REFUSE to email you the score. and if it was scanned, it would probably be a pdf/jpeg/bmp file, not a word file, so it's probably fake.
