First of all, hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum that I read for the past three years.
I'm and IMG. I just finished my step 1 yesterday and I will write about my horrible experience leading up to the exam over a span of three years. However, the exam itself was very fair, I will have more on that in the experiences thread later.
As to the odd thing. Today I woke up with one thing on my mind, registering for Step 2 CK and doing it sometime in the mid to late september, hopefully having a chance at matching in 2010. I already passed the CS the first time 3 years ago. So CK will be my last step.
Anyhow, on August 10, I was scheduled to do step 1, but I could not sleep one second and I was awfully stressed that day, which is probably the norm, except I felt it would affect my exam a lot, so I decided to reschedule hours before the actual exam, one week ahead.
As it turns out, after doing that, I was happy with my decision then and I have no regrets. I did step 1 in a slightly more relaxed and healthy mood yesterday, and I even think I answered plenty of neuro questions thanks to the revision I made during the week I bought for myself.
Anyhow, due to last minute rescheduling, I was presented by a screen on prometric asking for a credit card to pay the fees which was a total of $239 I think.
All good so far. Today though, when I wanted to register for CK, I noticed that my account was actually not charged at all, despite the fact that I successfully rescheduled my exam and completed it yesterday.
I was worried a bit now, because I hope that does not lead to any discrepancy in the score reporting, or something else. Should I just ignore this thing and consider my self $239 richer and lucky? Or should I anticipate problems?
The real problem is that the credit card I use is a prepaid internet shopping credit card I use specifically for exam fees for the USMLE. So it cannot overcharge. I never had any problems at all with it before though. After I completed the registration to Step 2 CK, I would not have enough funds to pay the $239 in my account.
I hope they just don't think I scammed them or something. I don't know what I have to do to pay the 239 considering I already rescheduled and completed the exam...
