I would never study from TBR (aka The Berkeley Review) because of this..

Just reading some recommendation from TBR, so I search for their website intending maybe to buy a book to see what the fuss is about. When I go to their official website and I see this:

The Berkeley Review helps students prepare for the MCAT and the MCAT only. We do not provide assistance in preparing for the ACT, DAT, OAT, SAT, GMAT, LSAT, PCAT, TOEFL, USMLE, or the dog catcher's licensing exam. Maybe that is why we have such an excellent reputation in California for helping students achieve their maximum potential score on the MCAT.

Am I correct that TBR refers a vet as "dog catcher"? There are so many way to show one's intelligent without belittle other health care professionals. I hope they dont teach their student to be that arrogrant.

I took TBR last semester and scored 37+. It was extremely effective, and the head of the program, Todd, is an amazing teacher and a really funny guy. He wrote that intro you're quoting, and it's definitely just his wacky sense of humor. I assure you he means nothing by it.

No. You are not correct. That is not what they're doing.
They are attempting humor via hyperbole, stressing the point that they ONLY provide MCAT prep by throwing out everything they could think of plus something completely random.

Not to mention, nothing a pre-anything student takes for admission is considered a 'licensing exam'

Yes, because to get into Vet school, you take a dog catcher's licensing exam, not the GRE.

You're going to have a very difficult time with the verbal reasoning portion of the MCAT if you could not detect the satirical tone the author was using in order to convey and emphasize their specialization in MCAT preparation.
