Hello, I have a question about an IA i got. i twas senior year, for violating guest policy. it says in outcome letter i violated guest policy by overstaying guest by a couple days beyond max. sadly during this time guest messaged a random girl in dorm on insta saying "hey hows it going" and she felt uncomfortable by this, and guest took food from fridge of roomates. luckily in report says i had no knowledge of his behavior. but i only got sanctioned for violating guest policy, nothing more, and only a 1 month guest ban. how bad will look? should i disclose specific details or keep it general? school said they only release policy violated and most cases med schools will rely on my explanation for details, but rarely maybe they will see details somehow? so idk. pls help. i have a strong profile otherwise, and have impacted nearly a million people in a company i founded, so i hope this doesnt ding me too much.
my explanation is this currently:
In Fall 2024, I received a housing violation specifically for allowing a friend who had lost his job and was waiting for his mom to buy his tickets to travel home, to stay with me in my dormitory room for a few days over the maximum limit, which was against the guest policy. In addition, my guest was disruptive towards my peers and roomates such as taking their food from fridge, which I was not aware of, but when I found out, I realized the ramifications of my actions and the importance of monitoring my guests behavior. As a result of my guest overstaying, I lost guest privileges for a month. I have learned from my mistake, was fully cooperative during the process, and recognize the importance of adhering to all the policies and have not had any violations before and after this incident. While my intention was positive, I now understand that violating dorm policies can negatively impact the comfort of my dorm community. This incident has taught me a lesson in life - not to violate the dorm guest policy and the significance of creating a positive and safe environment for my community. I now recognize the importance of strictly following housing policies laid out by the dorm , and I’ve made it a point to educate myself much more thoroughly on the rules to ensure maximum compliance.
