ICO interview

I just received notification (by email) from ICO offering an interview. I've already scheduled and will be attending the Sept. 18th session. The woman I spoke with on the phone mentioned I was the first person to schedule an interview date so far. Has anyone else received an interview invitation?

Best birthday present ever! I just checked my email and have been selected by ICO for an interview! I recieved the email on my b-day (yesterday) and am SO excited. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats on getting the interviews guys, all your hard work has paid off and hopefully you will do kick *** on the interview and get accepted.

I just had a quick question, and hopefully you don't find it too personal (in which case you don't have to answer the question), have you sent all of your information in (i.e. OAT scores, letters of references, etc...) before you got up to this interview stage, or are you still missing a few things?

The reason I ask is because I'm still in the process of applying and haven't sent in my application yet.

hey, i just got an e-mail today too!! i'm excited but havent scheduled a date yet....i am debating whether to drive or not (probably will) but i cant decide on which date to schedule it on...it'll probably be on a monday, but right now, the best date to fit it in for me is mon. oct 8....do you guys think that is late considered late (with the fact they offered to have interviews starting sept 17)?....my schedule with classes and all is crazy!

Jay12, I have yet to write the OAT -but everything else is in to ICO. I would suggest getting your app. in ASAP for your best opportunity.

Brownyeyed, I don't think an Oct. 8th interview would be too late. I think mine might be on the 1st but I'm still trying to work out my schedule. Granted I have never done this process before so I'm not entirely sure what is considered "late". Especially since they conduct interviews thru March.

I submitted mine less than two weeks ago and they emailed me today. This was pretty surprising since the website says like 5 weeks are needed to review your application (maybe they aren't busy right now).

In any case, I'll be interviewing on 9/20. Tough day cause I need to miss school mid-week and fly over there, but that's what happens if you don't jump on a time right away. Anyone else headed for the 20th? Also did anyone get a confirmation email after making the appointment?

I have submitted everything excluding only my OAT as I have yet to write it. I submitted my application almost the same day they began accepting them. I wanted to get everything out of the way in order to hopefully stregthen my app because I dont plan on taking the OAT until December which I feel is late. I am also just waiting for letters of recommendation. So slow! I've asked some professors 2 months ago and have yet to recieve a letter. I have everything else finished. Just waiting around for letters. But congrats to those who have finished and are starting to interview!!

I have yet to take the OAT but my GPA is 3.8-3.9 in sciences and about a 3.5 in the rest; however, I received my undergrad degree in sociology and am only now finishing up science prerequisites. I'm 23 years old. Hope that helps

My overall and science GPA are identical, and are somewhere between 3.40 and 3.45 (would prefer to say a range instead). Also my OAT TS is 380. I have also completed all the pre-requisites listed on the website in addition to some of the recommended courses at time of application. Don't worry too much right now though; I think the website for ICO says they take 4-5 weeks to review an application. Hope ya find this information useful.

Also did anyone with interviews get a confirmation email once you called to set your interview date?

I didnt receive a confirmation email about the email, but i did receive a confirmation email when I requested a room at the RC. To answer an earlier question, I still have 3 required classes to complete.

When ICO says it'll take 4-5 weeks to go over an application, do they mean they'll respond to you if they'll offer you an interview or even rejection by the 5th week?

or if you don't hear from them within that timeframe, expect that you're rejected?

I don't think that's too late... they are on rolling admission but I doubt they accept everyone that early in the process. I just submitted mine the other day, too.

i'm still waiting on my LORs!!!!!!!!... when i went back to school, they said they had no LORs on file. Now I finally got one in..and still waiting on others.

question: does ICO review my app ONLY when it's completed? Completed as in... all LORs in? I know you dont have to get all the prereqs done when you apply.

I believe ICO had all my LORs by the time my application check was sent.

I'm interviewing on 10/15.

i do think you need all your paperwork (LOR, signature page, pre req worksheet) in before they look at it, which sucks becaues you need to mail in that signature page AFTER you complete the application. which maybe adds another extra week of them receiving and processing the paper work. i just hope i hear from them soon!

They definitely cashed my check on Friday, according to my bank, and the check was with the signature page and pre req worksheet. I got the e-mail on Monday, so I think you do need all the paperwork.
