Hello All! I am searching for help with choosing an optometry program. I am stuck between NECO and ICO. I have been interviewed and been accepted at both schools. And I love both schools for different reasons.
ICO: Nice that everything is very close. The RC seems very convenient, the reputation of both clinic and academic standards are impressive. But after reading some reviews (especially reviews on rate my professor pertaining to the school) it seems some students feel unnecessarily difficulty in the academic end. I am wondering if there are any current ICO students that can speak of the curriculum and if they felt it was difficult but do-able, or flat out impossible?
NECO: Great location, and a very beautiful campus. But I imagine the living is expensive, and doing anything semi-fun would require deep pockets. I found the students there not mentioning the difficult curriculum as much as I heard at ICO, which I imagine is good and bad. Good for mental health and well-being, may be bad for passing the board though.
I was hoping any current students at either school could share their experiences and why they decided to attend the school they did.
Thank you!
