Collisions are completely elastic between molecules and the contact time of the collisions is considered negligible.
 
So if an MCAT question ask me, ideal gas particles are not in contact with neighboring molecules only with the walls of the container.

I would say Yes?
If a question asked you, "True or False: ideal gas particles are not in contact with neighboring molecules only with the walls of the container,"

The answer would be false. The concept of ideal behavior does not include intangible particles that pass through each other; they do contact each other, just not in a way that results in a net loss of kinetic energy. Hence, the elastic collisions t5nitro mentioned above. The way you've phrased the statement is sort of odd though, hopefully it would be written more specifically.
