How much is an ideal amount of just physician shadowing ? I freak out when I see people who have like 200 shadowing hours because physicians don't usually have the time to shadow you a lot on a weekly basis, so that means that these people have been shadowing for a LONG time.

If I shadow a physician for 3 months in the summer, for 3 hours one day a week, sometime 2 days a week. This would give me about 45 to 50 hours of shadowing. Is this enough?

50 hours is a good amount. Make sure to shadow a primary care. Shadow a DO and get a LOR (see OMM if possible).

Yes, it's enough. People unnecessarily rack up the hours. Main goal is to get something out of shadowing so you have something to say when asked to elaborate upon it. Quality over quantity.
