Ideas for EC's

Hey Guys/Gals,

I was wondering/fishing for some ideas for some EC's. First, a little background. I am older,43-44 upon application. Grades are good,3.7/3.55.
15 years as a paramedic, 9 as a critical care paramedic, 7+ years as an EMD 911 dispatcher. I have been a paramedic student mentor, emergency driving mentor, performed QA on critical care calls, taught county protocol classes, involved in schools pre-med club. Nothing to exciting. I have worked 60-65+ hours a week throughout my entire bachelor's. I don't have a ton of time, but would like to do somehting more. Will ADCOMS look at my working throughout, and cut me a bit of slack? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

That's one of the benefits of being an older applicant. You have done quite a bit, actually and maintained competitive grades. Assuming your MCAT is decent, you probably won't need EC's. Do them only if you really want to.

Hey Rob -

Is there something that you're interested in that you like to do that may make you stand out? If so, do it. It doesn't necessarily have to deal with medicine. Since you're an older applicant, your work experience overlaps your need for an extensive list of ECs. You can see my mdapps for some suggestions (not all of them are included), but I had a wide range of activities. Best of luck.
