So I took my first timed practice test. The 2007 ADA.

I surprised myself in that I generally did better than I expected.

The only surprise and frustration is that though I did well on the GC questions I answered, I only got to half of them. I got through the Bio and OC questions within a reasonable time for each. I totally bogged down in GC. When I realized I was only going to get through only half of GC, I went on to OC.

How do I speed up on this section GC??

My first thought is to speed up on Bio and OC to leave more time for the GC.

Isn't the 2007 version the easy version of the DAT and also an inaccurate representation of the difficulty in questions that the ADEA throws at you? I found that I could only slightly improve my speed in Gen chem with practice so I instead sped up my biology time and especially my organic time.
For example, the three sections have to be completed in 90 minutes giving you an average of 30 minutes for each section. I tried my best to finish my biology and orgo in 25 minutes each giving me 10 extra minutes for gen chem. So that's 25 min in orgo, 25 in bio, and 40 minutes in gen chem. Orgo and bio rarely have long calculations so this made sense to me.

When you have to do calculations, look at the answers first. If the answers are far enough apart, just estimate all your numbers so you get close enough to an answer.
