Do you guys think these sites are enough to learn to identify heart sounds or is it too much? I'm able to tell without listening if they give me enough info in the question, but if they give me only a clip of heart sound to identify on the exam without any clues then I'm in trouble. What did you guys do for heart sounds?

There will always be a clinical vignette accompanying the media clip. Some stems are more helpful than others (i.e. you know the answer without listening), but they will never just give you the clip without a stem. A few of my classmates said there was a iPhone app that was pretty helpful. I can't remember what it was. I only used UWORLD+FA for heart murmurs and didn't have a problem on the exam.
I think the key is to get an answer in your head before listening to the clip and think of the associated sound (even if it's just diastolic v. systolic and APTM location). Once you know what you're looking for, just confirm with the clip. I only had 2 clips on my exam and they could have been answered without the clip so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I heard Kaplan HY lectures have a great interactive heart sounds module. It's ridiculously expensive though and they aren't online anywhere 🙁

uworld heart sounds are the ****ing worst. it's a 2 second clip of a muffled sound with like a goddamn AC unit going off in the background.

After I read the vignette, I'd have an answer in my head, but hey, let me check out the audio clip. Oh, this audio sounds like ass and unlike the heart sound I was thinking of. Let me pick the answer choice that sounds like what I think the audio clip sounded like.

Whoops, got it wrong. I should have not listened to the audio clip in the first place.

So, I guess I'm ok then and don't need to go through these sites.

I totally agree with the clips on UW, I get most of them right mostly by the vignettes.

It seems like we need to go over these sites as other students got questions on the real exam where they had to identify murmur using stethoscope and nothing else.
