Get good grades.
Get good MCAT score.
Get some EC's.

Exactly, where is the mystery?

How???? 😕 😕 😕

A book that helped put the process into perspective for me was:

Kaplan Newsweek Medical School Admissions Advisor 2003

However, I think this book might be out of print. The book was though, concise and to the point with relevant information on how and what to do. 👍 :luck:

What is the order of priority? This is what I think.
1. MCAT-the great equalizer
2. GPA
3. Clinical experience / Volunteering
4. LOR
5. EC
I think the first three are an absolute must, and the last two are important but not as critical.

I don?t think idiots should go to med school.

Agreed
How about a plastic surgery for dummy's book?
Internal Medicine made easy in a simple two step program?

To the person that Posted,

"I don't think Idiots should go to med school"

I'm pretty sure the original poster isn't an idiot, but just wants something that helps guide him the way these idiot guides do.

I don't think anyone who buys those idiot guide books, are idiots either, just not sure what they need to do for that particular problem.

I think if you talk to a Kaplan office or something, they could work with you all to get a copy of their medical school admissions advisor.

Also, the MSAR has great information and what not for the process.

Futhermore, there are resources such as these wonderful forums on studentdoctor.net and on our home page to this site

 they have an idiots guide on "getting into law school", also one on "going to college", I thought it was funny that they don't have one for getting into medical school.
