In terms of how much weight each matters for your osteopathic application?

Obviously each school is a little different, but roughly how much weight would those two components carry on their own?

I understand that schools take a holistically approachand that all components matter, so the sum of GPA and MCAT won't be 100%, but they obviously matter a great deal and I just kind of want to get an idea of how much. Is it like 90% combined? 75%? 60%? Something else?

I think you want your GPA and MCAT to be enough to get you an interview. After that, it's other things. So I would say 65-70%?

Applicants with lower numbers will be relying heavily on their ECs to pull them up a bit. Likewise, just having high numbers isn't enough if you don't have good experiences. Because of this, I think it's impossible to really try and put this into a pie graph of some sort. I would think of it as more of a scale with ECs/experiences on one side and MCAT/GPA on the other. It's not good to have the scale incredibly imbalanced, it's best to have a level scale. That's the way I picture it. The heavier the side is, the better it is and if it's imbalanced, you should be adding weight to the lighter side.

However, like you said, every school is different so each scale will be calibrated differently. Your GPA side may be really heavy at one school or really light at another, or well balanced with your ECs at a third. This is why I think you're question is impossible to answer, even with a rough estimate.
