I agree with cyrille and horybaby. Your first step is to make appointments with each school and review your application packet with them. Take what they say seriously because they will be looking for those improvements the next time you apply.
I know many of the Animal Sciences students at UF go for a masters of ag if they don't get it. It's a one year non-thesis program that you can basically design yourself, with the help of a mentor. It's a great way for bringing up your GPA. Of course, if your grades are solid and you are short on cash this might not be the way to go.
You could also do an internship somewhere. Disney has a few really good vet internships, one in Animal Kingdom and another in the Livingseas. I had applied to both (in case that I didn't get in) for "Fall". That application period is over, but I think there might be a spring round that lasts from Jan to June.
