Before or after you learn how to spell?

I'm a hot tempered kind of cat, so I will let that slide, but don't push me.

lounge thread.

I would just charge him extra since he would have extra money burning a hole in his pockets from all those tax cuts.

Heck, Id probably invite him to lunch. Yay for the Factor. I like watching people squirm.

But unirregardless , I dont care if it was Michael Moore or Ralph Nader on my table or the terrorist bomber that killed 12 people (yes i know, i know, not exactly fair to compare those two to terrorists, they are all just people i dont care for). They would get the best care I could give.

Anger anger. What's your beef with O'Reily?

Just as an aside, the phrase "do no harm" does not appear in the Hip. Oath. It is often mistakenly attributed to it.

"I swear by Apollo the physician, by Aesculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment the following Oath: To consider dear to me as my parents him who taught me this art; to live in common with him and if necessary to share my goods with him; to look upon his children as my own brothers, to teach them this art if they so desire without fee or written promise; to impart to my sons and the sons of the master who taught me and the disciples who have enrolled themselves and have agreed to the rules of the profession, but to these alone, the precepts and the instruction. I will prescribe regimen for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug, nor give advice which may cause his death. Nor will I give a woman a pessary to procure abortion. But I will preserve the purity of my life and my art. I will not cut for stone, even for patients in whom the disease is manifest; I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners (specialists in this art). In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction, and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves. All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or outside of my profession or in daily commerce with men, which ought not to be spread abroad, I will keep secret and will never reveal. If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot." - Dorlands Medical Dictionary, Hippocratic Oath

Guess I cant believe everything i read. 🙄

LOL, I cant take credit for unirregardless. My two neighbors in the dorms while going to undergrad coined it, as far as I know.

Thank you Mark Johnson and Drew Haney, lol.

I was refering to the quote "First, do no harm" The closest Hippocrates came to the statement was in another piece called "Epidemics"

What you posted is also a modified version of the original oath.

blah, semantics.

not really, I thought it was pretty interesting that we don't actually recite the original oath. It has been modified over the years and it varies widely between schools. There is a good editorial about it on NEJM website. (author Markel, H if you are interested, probably not)

that had me cracking up for a good ten minutes..

My political viewpoints aside, I don't understand why there's so much time spent in a non-political forum doing conservative bashing. It seems like someone always has some random tick where they have to start some anti-conservative thread. Keep this crap in the lounge or other appropriate forum where it belongs. It's irritating to say the least.

Why all the hatred? Even though I'm a conservative and Bill is a freaky-liberal, that doesn't make me want to hurt him.

i dont think we're talking about the same bill o'reilly

I'm pretty sure he is a liberal. He always thinks that the government is the sole solution to all of life's problems. Always talking about how he grew up in the working class. It's ridiculous!

Wait, do you think that Bill is conservative because he has a moral foundation? You know, liberals have morals too. 😉

Oh no, he misspelled. Let?s all laugh at him. Idiots.

Bill is as right-winged as you can get.

I would say Sean Hannity is further to the right. If you listen to what Bill O says, his views are all over the place.

Even though this is a pre-med forum and this thread doesn't need to be here, I am still a sucker for politics and would like to respond to this. Personally I don't understand why people get so pissed off when there is a thread on here that doesn't deal with MCAT or "what did you hear from such and such a school." I also don't understand why people post stupid things like "check your spelling". Did you understand what he was saying or did the spelling confuse you? - nothing to do with you g3pro!

"Bill" as you so candidly call him is not called conservative by more left leaning people because of his 'morals'. Its because he is against things that liberals tend to support, such as gay marriage, or pro-choice and Ludacris (I guess). He also tends to badmouth or argue with people who have and obviously left-leaning stance, such as Al Franken and Hillary Clinton. He is also a registered Republican. He also tends to support Republican political moves that have nothing to do with his moral stance. For example Jeb Bush's University plan in Florida, the War in Iraq and Bush's tax cuts... hmmm... Bush is Republican... Bill O'Reilly is Republican... the Republican party is generally thought of as the party for conservatives. That is why "Bill" is not thought of as liberal. Come on, he's got his own show on FOX!!!

he WAS a registered republican...now he's "officially" independent

he doesn't vote or think completely according to the republican party line but he's not "freaky-liberal" - he definitely leans towards the right but is nowhere near sean hannity, rush, ann coulter, et al.

He is a registered Independent I believe, if you want to get specific/accurate.

edit: sorry, the above poster beat me

I'll be sure never to refer my patients to you whenever I become a doctor. I don't want any "accidents" to happen regardless what their beliefs are.

I seriously hope you are joking about this.

You guys need to get a life if you think I would risk wasting 4 years of medical school, 5 years of residency all on Bill O'reilly. He is not worth it. I posted after watching his racist ass last night.

Exactly what was it that he said that was racist. (because I didn't watch it)
Or are you just saying that because you hate all conservatives and think that they are all racist.
