I recall seeing schools wanting calculus and statistics or either of them, but never 2 semesters of calculus. This is just what I read so hopefully some other people can add to this question.

I'm more familiar with math requirement for med schools.. Calc 1 + stats is fine for them.. so i don't see why that it'll be different for Dental. Then again.. it's best to check with each school that you're interested in applying.

After having gone over all of them for my apps last year, I found that for the most of them, the general guideline was a year of math (ie, a year of calc), but many schools recommend that you take half calc half stats, as stats is often on the recommened class lists. I also found that Stats is also way more useful than the second semester of calc, hehe.

I received 1 sem of calc from AP credits, and I took the 2nd sem of calc at my university, and i also took 1 sem of stats. So would that count as a year of calculus?

Most schools will be fine with 1 semester Calc and 1 semester Stats, at least that was the case with all of the schools I looked at and applied to. There are only a few schools that want a full year of Calculus, Harvard being one of them. Check the individual school websites or consult the ADEA book for which schools have what course requirements.

Stony Brook requires atleast 1 semester of Calc and then another in a higher math like Stat.

whaaat??
iv always thought that the requirement was only precalc??
is calc a requirement for only some specific schools? or a majority of schools or for every school?

Most schools only want a semester of calc. Ive never seen a school requiring 2 semesters of calc.
