If you don't match, will it switch to my supplemental list automatically?

If I am applying to advanced programs and I don't match on my main rank list, will it automatically start going down my supplemental list of prelims/TY's? Or, will I need to rank all my prelim/TY's below the programs on my main rank list to be able to get those as "back up?"

thanks

You need to rank your prelim programs in the main ROL after your advanced programs, if you want the algorithm to put you into 1 yrs positions in case you dont match to any advanced.

I'm truly amazed that a question like this can be asked less than 3 hours from deadline.

There are some of us who never even considered this scenario because matching into only a PGY-1 may be a worse fate than going unmatched.

At any rate, the answer is that you need to rank them after your advanced positions in your main ROL. Your supplemental list only becomes active upon a successful match to it's associated main list program.
