If you get the Hopkins Call this week post

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
is there anyone out there who was at my date. didnt he say the second week of december

I got called by Hopkins today.

It was from my advisor making sure I was on the ball and asking how my paper is going and how classes are going, and if I need anything (tutor, additional assitance, etc.) to make it through these last two weeks.

Hi...I interviewed on Nov 6th too. I went to UCLA and was one of the few people not wearing black. I remember hearing we would get either a phone call or a letter by the 2nd week of Dec. So far I've gotten neither.
Best of luck.
Michelle

hey we should talk check your private messages

Hey everyone. I interviewed towards the end of oct. I was told mid-december as the date. I haven't received anything as of yet nor have I gotten a phone call. Oh well. I hope you all get that call soon and I have my fingers crossed.

I interviewed on 10/23. Eagerly awaiting the decision.

did any of you stay off campus for your interviews?

i'd like to stay at a hotel to get a feel of Baltimore, any suggestions? and which neighborhoods to visit?

The ADCOM meets on Tuesday evenings, and Paul White makes calls to those accepted predominantly on Wednesdays (since interviews are conducted on both Thurs and Fris). Letters are, however, sent out a little later to both those accepted and those placed on the alternate list. ALL who are not accepted post-interview are placed on the alternate list initially, which is later broken down into 3 tiers.

SIf you want lavish stay in one by the Inner Harbor. The Sheraton is fancy schmantzy.

Neighborhoods: Fells point, Mt. Washignton, Federal Hill and of course good ole Owings Mills.

Don't give up hope if you don't get the call the next day on Wednesday! I was going nuts wed-thurs, but I got the call on Friday morning.

No call for me yet. TEAR🙁
I am pretty much expecting the old Waitlist letter.

Big ol' rejection letter received on Wednesday. Saddened, but I had it coming.

i interviewed on the same day with the same guy as plastic and i have not gotten anything. I need SND to come together and think about why i have not gotten anything. What is the deal, did i get rejected, waitlisted, or accepted?? And if accepted where is the call. I live in NY and i should get mail before plastic does.

How do you expect "SND" to "come together" if you can't even spell the abrieviation right? It's SDN buttmunch 🙂

i make a a lot of typos, sorry, it has been a real problem throughout the process

has anyone gotten a call yet? still checking my phone every 5 seconds for missed calls but no luck...

still havent' heard anythign yet...bump

Can anyone say anything about staying at Reed? I'm debating between swanky inner harbor and that - but I keep hearing it's so ghetto - my parents lived there actually, in the 60's. Yikes.

And to the coiner of the term "buttmunch" - kudos to you!

I live in the suites in Reed and it's really not too bad. It really is a lot like the suites I had in college - 4 single rooms with a bathroom and living area. Apparently the singles side is much worse but you're almost guaranteed to get something on the suite side (only 2 people in my class live in the singles). You can definitely get something nicer downtown, at the harbor, in Canton, wherever, but you will pay three times as much. Still, some of my classmates have really nice apartments. If you're used to glitz and really don't think you could live in a dorm again then it might be a better option to look elsewhere. But Reed Hall is a great, cheap, convenient way to live close to class and meet people. If you're ambivalent I would recommend giving Reed a try. The convenience factor is so huge that a few people in my class have already decided to stay on next year. I'm moving out though. 😉

Thanks...maybe I'll stay there for my interview just to see what it's like....

Don't mean to make too much of a fuss - but 4 people to one bathroom? Yikes! I'm such a bathroom hog I couldn't imagine sharing with more than one other person!

if u meant staying there for ur interview...u'll have to stay in the singles side, unless u have a student host. the singles wing is basically made up of tiny little rooms with the bathroom-down-the-hall for everyone to share
good luck at the interview

Dont go with Owings Mills unless you want to drive an hour to school every day.
