If you had never opened an anatomy book and just learned what's in FA...

How would you do on Step 1?

I'm asking because lots of people say knowing FA is enough, but I am wondering if these people have enough solid background knowledge to answer the anatomy questions, and are just using FA for the annoying questions that ask nitty gritty details (e.g. aortic arch derivatives).

Thanks! :luck:

Personally I think you'd get rocked--- FA is pretty skimpy for anatomy. Yeah there are sone high yield facts in there, and lots of stuff in there that you might not pick up elsewhere but I'd use the Qbank answers to supplement FA...

I wish Goljan taught anatomy, that would be awesome 👍

You would have gotten clobbered on my step 1. There is no way FA would have been enough to answer the various vessel and nerve innervation of the pelvis and lower limb. I had around 20 straight anatomy questions. I think FA would have answered around 5 of them.

Remember my response was to the fact that the person had never opened an anatomy book before. If you remember anatomy well from 1st year then FA will be fine, if you are not that astute with it then I don't think FA would have been enough for the questions on my exam. I would highly recommend giving HY anatomy a glance.

The other thing I would stress is to know your molecular biology. I don't know why they love this stuff but they do.
