I’m in a tough situation now... the independent I was with couldn’t survive and I haven’t been able to find a position in retail... Being a RPh with B.S. Pharm has its limitations- I can’t afford to go back to school for my PharmD ( does anyone know how much a non traditional PharmD path would cost ?i think at least 50k)
.But here’s my main question
Would doing a MS help me land a job?
If so what area of specialization would you recommend ?

Non-trad PharmD does not help as of right now (it helps the University bottom line) in terms of securing employment. It usually was a way to change tracks. I suppose data science could work if your mathematics is not terrible, however, they are a dime a dozen right now. If you want the long money, actuarial work is steady and pays as well or better.

If I'm not mistaken, the BS to PharmD programs are no longer taking applicants. I do not think getting a masters will help your situation if we're being honest. I currently know a BS Pharm who was recently forced to retire from a chain, and she was somehow able to land a manager position for a new chain store with a different company. I guess at this point, you will need to reach out to any past connections. It's difficult to be a veteran BS Pharm competing in a saturated market with freshly minted PharmD's who will work for less.

If I had to go back to school I'd be looking at doing something in IT/programming. At your age though I would strongly consider moving to get another job instead of spending money on a degree or certificate that may or may not result in a job.
