LOL, living proof that mdapplicants is just a little skewed... 🙂

P.S. -- Can I join the federation? It's an eminently worthy cause!

Hey how come i can't view my own profile? I'm nowhere to be found

Yeah, I had that problem too. Unclick the box that says something about only searching for completed profiles. Hope that helps.

Where in Wyoming are you from??? I grew up there and my in-laws live there now (my father-in-law is a prof at UW). Just curious cuz there are so few ppl who have lived, or still live in Wyoming (and actually admit it!)!!

EDIT: NM, just saw you're from Cheyenne. This is too nuts, 2 people from WY (plus me, makes 3).....wow, I graduated high school from Rock Springs, btw.

I like Wyoming...plus the whole washington wwami application process makes it totally worth it

Also, just wanted to point out there are two nutmegs on here.

There is this nutmeg, which spells their name with all lowercase and has a number after their name. But there is also the Nutmeg who posts in the MCAT subforum to help students with their MCAT woes. That person spells it with a capital N and has no number after their name. I just thought I'd throw that in there, because I got confused by it when I saw this nutmeg's post a long time ago.

So becareful not to confuse the two people, cuz they different peepz.

Wow that is interesting that you learned Farsi.

Also, your avatar is somewhat unsettling, and after a few minutes I am feeling some slight strains from my (failed) attempts to mimic this peculiar activity.

yeeaaa... i've decided to post a mdapplicants link *after* the process is over and i get all the notifications. but I do so enjoy reading everyone else's! it's pretty amazing how organized some people are about it, keeping track of when things are received, sent, complete, etc.

If you have a profile on MDapplicants.com, would you post your link in this thread? Thay way, those of us not applying this go-around can see your progress and we don't have to keep asking for your stats WHEN (not if) you get in!

I thought this would help, too, since there is no more search function.

THANKS!

howdy :spam:

no stellar stats, but hoping that the in-state and URM cards come into play...

it's in the signature 🙄

in the sig ... somebody's gotta curve the gpa!

The Farsi was amazing - I just wish that I knew people who actually spoke it that wouldn't treat me like a dumb@ss for having forgotten so much over the years that I would speak it with to keep it up, but....well, whatcha gonna do?

Sorry that the av is so scary, I didn't realize how much I have posted on this board until I changed my av to Peter goin' crazy on himself, and then I was like, WOW, I post a LOT and that is a TON of nipple licking! Sorry if its too much, I just thought it was hysterical....but if ppl don't like it, I'll change it! LOL 😉

Last year and this year in the sig...

my apologies...you can never tell with these androgynous seasoning names 🙂

I think my mdapps profile is 3130, i haven't updated it in a while though

I'm not a member of the 36+ club, but I think the people posting here give a skewed representation of the average med school applicant. Isn't the MCAT national average of people accepted a 29 or 30?

okay, so i'm not the übermensch incarnate that all you guys & gals seem to be, but i'm keeping the avatar anyway because Rand's fiction is still ausgezeichnet ("kick ass" auf deutsch)... 🙂

wow, you guys are making me sick. as in i think i just vomited into my mouth a little. and the fact that you guys are so negative about your prospects is not really funny, but more just pathetic. your lack of confidence is unjustified. keep your heads up. and dont worry, i WILL stop checking this thread.

and btw: i dont have a md applicants thing but stats are below:
MCAT: 32 R
Avg GPA: 3.54
SCi GPA: 3.20
UC Berkeley

I think that even the stellar applicants worry because the process is soooo crapshoot sometimes. Even if you are a stellar applicant, there will always be someone who is better then you or the same as you, and if they are the same as you it is hard to say which one of the two they'll pick. This makes the process somewhat fickle. Many good applicants get rejected from schools they expect to have a chance at and get into schools they never thought they had a chance at, etc. etc.

So this is probably why people are worried.

By the way, your stats aren't too shabby yourself. So I think you'll have a good chance somewhere.

It amazes me sometimes how willing people are to brag about their grades/scores. What douchebag walks around with their report card taped to their chest or their MCAT score branded on their arm? Normal people don't introduce themselves, "Hi my name is Vicky Sentence, I'm from Ithaca and I have a 3.9/37R." So why is it so prevalent here? Maybe i'm the odd one out who extolls modest and anonymity as virtues.

1. This thread was created by someone ASKING for this information. If you're not interested, don't read it.

2. Your posts and your signature do not speak to your own modesty.

See this is what I don't understand about SDN. People do not share their stats to brag. They share it because others would like to know their progress, and see how they fair out in the game. It is not SDNer's faults that the more average applicants that get accepted refuse to post on here and give some idea of their stats. If someone asks for another person's stats, it is their right to post it.

Many people keep their profiles in their sig, so that when someone asks them for advice or how they did, they don't have to repeat themselves over and over. It is just easier that way. They also use their mdapps as a personal way of tracking their own progress while letting others see how they may fair out in the process.

I, personally, like to see how people do in the process and where they get in.

Also, I rather have someone post their information in the sig rather then making us dig through to figure out which mdapps are real and which are fake, because at least you know their's is genuine whereas many mdapps are quite fake and not reliable.
