I graduated from Jeff last year. Feel free to DM me. A few thoughts.
- Jeff class size is really big. That's the biggest drawback IMO and something to think about. Tons of opportunities for research/volunteering but you can imagine >260 students can saturate things a bit. The curriculum has changed completely since I was an M1, but the big lectures felt like college to me and were impersonal. But at the same time it give more opportunities through things like very well funded student groups.
- Philly is awesome and you're right in Center City.
- Match lists are strong. If you do well you can match at the top programs, as my peers did.
- Jeff students tend to have a supportive/family environment as you picked up on.
- Refugee health partners and JeffHOPE among other organizations have huge impacts in the community and are totally student run.
- The anatomy dissection thing doesn't matter at all. (When I was choosing schools I remember thinking it did, but it really doesn't in hindsight. For reference I'm a surgery resident so anatomy was probably one of the more important courses for me.)
