I have an 89 NBDE I
I have a 3.7 GPA
President of a few extracurricular clubs
I have 2 oral surgery externships
I really want to do OMFS 6 year program
I am willing to do an internship, but will it actually help me get into a residency
Is 90 for part I a non-negotiable cut-off?

Should I retake part I? Do I have a chance?

Just diversifying my perspectives...thanks

I'm no expert on applying to 6 year programs but at all the programs I interviewed at that also had 6 year spots, most wanted 90 or above on part I's (mostly b/c that's what the med school stipulated). I'm sure there are 6 year programs out there where "close to 90" might get you in but I don't know any personally. You should call all the 6 year programs to see which ones require that criteria and narrow down the list from there...OR you can study your ass off and try and get a 90 to give yourself some options.

What is your rank??? I would take the exam over. It might be awful studying for it again but it could save you a year or two if you dont get accepted.
