Hey.. so anyone who wants to take the time.. that'd be great.

I really love the idea of osteopathic medicine, but I also love the idea of allopathic medicine. I know which DO schools I'll be applying to, but I dont know which MD schools to apply to. Anyone have any suggestions
I'm from CA and I'm not a URM

GPA 3.66-3.7 (depends on this quarter)
MCAT 2002 23Q (yeah i know... )
MCAT 2003 30S

4 year varsity soccer player at UC Davis
PreMedPeer advisor
Multiple volunteer positions
Prytanean women's honor society
some research
EMT
some clinical.. still working on that.
Intramural sports
Various leadership roles

What do you think.. I know a lot of lame people do this and it can be really annoying, but I'm trying to put a list together.. MD applicants helped, but I'm curious about some recent applicants... any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

are you applying during this application cycle or next, because i think with your scores that might really matter....meaning, a 30 is probably going to be fine if you apply next june, but could limit you if you apply now.

oh I'm definitely waiting until next year.. will have that application ready in June for sure.. applying now would be a terrible idea for me.

not many of us have the msar......just know someone who does so we can jack it from them when we need it haha.

umm i think you can try your luck with all the california schools.

and there is another thread out there that has a list of schools that welcome out of state students.....

ill see if i can find that for you.

your numbers are good. good GPA and a 30. It will make you a competitive applicant at a good number of allo schools.

I think you should consider all the CA schools. Then the following if you don't mind heading east.

Their scores are about in your range.
Albany
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Louisville
Rush
Medical College of WI

Good luck!

I have an MSAR that's from last year or the year before. I'd be happy to paraphrase anything from it (no copyright violations here!) for any specific questions.
