Hey not sure if other people wanted to share..

but wanted to have thread for DO students to post the IM invites they got. I keep checking the IM google sheet from reddit but realized that its not as helpful especially when people don't put DO or not.

So far I have interviews from

University of Missouri Columbia
University of Kansas

Hoping more invites come in but its definitely disheartening when you see the programs you applied to sending out of a bunch of invites..

For me, so far:

University of Utah
University of Illinois - Chicago
University of Texas - San Antonio
Baylor University Medical Center

I applied to a bunch of OOS programs but it seems like it may be super regional again this year. I've heard mostly silence from OOS programs.

Wow nice.. did you have an academic IM letter? Do you mind sharing your step 1 score?

I’ve been hoping for one from univ of illinois =(

Thanks! Im very shocked. Not expecting to match there but I am so happy to have the opportunity to interview at my #1
Would go down in history as the best IM match for a DO I think? Unless the Yale PC match trumps it from a few years ago? Congratulations man keeps the hope alive for DO's like me who want a mid tier program haha

lol Idk if matched at Vandy (unlikely) but if I did that would be up there with one the best I think fr IM. Emory Baylor and Yale have been the best ive seen for IM. I hope I do but not expecting it plenty of MDs frim top 10 schools with way better apps than me.

Nice list! Are you from FL? Did you signal UF? Regional Signal?

Not from FL but did regional signal. I just got VCU yesterday too! I guess it could definitely be worse overall but there’s been a few program that I’m bummed have passed over me :/ (for now at least?)

Congrats on Vandy though, that’s a major major accomplishment and if nothing else it shows you have a baller app without a red flag

Yea but you got a chance! Good luck

Nice you got MCG and UF-Jax..I havent heard from them =(

I've only gotten 3 invites: Univ of kansas, Univ of Missouri-Columbia, Univ of Arizona

Low 250s step 1, high 250s step 2, top 10% of class. Levels are roughly equivalent.

Minimal research but some posters and presentations.
Thanks.. I got rejected from VCU... looks like my step 1 is the reason....guess they don't care that much about research

Just got an interview from a place I signaled...except the interview slots are on waitlist now....hopefully they will become available

I'm sorry man, that really sucks. I'm sure you'll end up with a spot. Can you email the program coordinator to ask?

I feel like interview invites have been so random thus far for me: Academic invites from places that I have no regional ties to. Meanwhile, I have radio silence from academic programs I've signaled or have ties at? So strange.

Same I only got one academic program that I signaled. It's still early I guess

anyone else get an interview at a place where there were only waitlist dates.. they said they were very confident that there will be open spots by the end of the season when people drop out but it seems weird that they would pre-maturely send out invites without any dates..

Yes I did and the program added more dates, maybe your program will as well

Yes happened to me! I tried to get in to schedule and all waitlist spots were gone because my eras was down

Dang sorry that happened to you.. my situation is a little different cause they sent me an invitation email but specifically said that there are only waitlist dates available.. its a solid mid-tier program (imo) so im worried people wont drop their spots...

I mean if they told you that they are confident that spots will open up then I would believe them. Apparently a lot of movement happens in November and December even for "mid tier" and low tier university programs.

Yeah i hope thats the case

How many interviews will you guys start feeling safe about matching?

I'm couples matching so I have no idea what that number should be... i guess it depends on the location of the interviews.. if its in a big city where we can different rank combination or if they are in cities with only 1 program

I think when I hit 12 i will start declining and feel safe about matching

Haven't been on this site in awhile. But hey DO here, current intern at an Academic program! Be patient, the interviews will come! The academic ones might come later but they will come. The program I am at now, I interviewed in January and was actually the last program I interviewd at haha. Trust the process and now being on the other side, trust me when I tell you that 90% of programs will make you a good doctor. You will all end up exactly where you need to be!

haha I don't know about all that but heres some general advice to everyone. You can have the research, the scores, the mission trips, and the allocades but it won't help you during the interview. Don't get me wrong, that is amazing stuff and you should 100% be proud of all that you accomplished but no one in residency cares about that. What people do care about is ..are you reliable? are you honest? can they co-miserate with you? Don't make your interviews about things listed on your CV unless youre asked. Talk about what you want in life, your goals, your passions, your interests. That served me way better than anything else IMO. Cliche but it works, just be yourself.
