I've been pretty relaxed this whole cycle, but today it really hit me. I have been on 9 interviews and have 5 more scheduled in the days before October 15. On 10/15, I will hear from at least 4 schools.

Everyone tells me that I will get in somewhere, but I'm really scared. I've fallen so far behind in my classes because I am always interviewing. I don't even know when my next midterm is. Please tell me to take a deep breath.

What's a good way to stay calm for the next 2 weeks? I can almost feel the glucocorticoids swimming in my blood.

I don't have time to take up yoga or tai chi. I tried weight lifting this evening, but left gym more stressed than when I entered. Benzodiazepines are out of the question.

You are going to get into multiple schools

but then you are going to fail your classes this semester, the schools are going to get your final transcript and they are going to retract those offers. You will then spend the rest of your days as a homeless alcoholic being treated by many of your past peers who actually matriculated into medical school.

Seriously, you're in an incredibly, incredibly good situation right now. I understand that you're stressed, but please don't be That Guy--you know, the one that complains about having the "problem" that everyone else would kill to have right now.

I think he's scared about this. Well, I'm in a similar boat. I don't know half of what's going on in my classes either.

Man, you applied to at least 15 schools?! Clearly, you are someone that freaks out easily.

You'll be OK. Applying to medical school is a stressful process. Take a deep breath and meditate.

Hmmm... I applied to 26, rejected by 1, on hold at another, have some more interviews after 10/15, and still waiting on a few others. 26 seems like the norm around here.

You're in a great spot, pal. But I totally know what you mean as far as getting behind in schoolwork. I went on 3 interviews last week and practically missed all my classes and have two tests this week. And I just can't focus. It's deadly.

Just do something to calm you down. I, for one, am strumming away on my acoustic guitar to some folksy jams. Takes the tension right away.

make a date with jack, jose, and the captain 😉

no seriously, run alot, im not in the same boat but i have a friend applying to several schools and he says that running or any aerobic exercise really takes the edge off.

as for your studies, once this is all over and you DO get accepted, im sure getting back to the books will seem like a relief because obviously you are a great student for the amount of interviews you have received. oh yeah.... breathe.

Man, I wish I could have the sense not to read these threads.

you're insane. you have 14 interviews and you're worried? get a life. some people don't even have ONE yet.

ha ha - no kidding.

This thread is a joke - 14 interviews before October 15 and the OP is all tied up in knots? Please.

I applied to ten and thought I was way overboard.

You make me feel good.

Thanks guys... I'm feeling better today. Found out next midterm isn't until after 10/15 and prepared for interviews tomorrow and Wednesday.

:luck: to everyone!
