Cholelithiasis/choledocolithiasis- RUQ U/S
Nephrolithiasis- CT (as opposed to KUB because of uric acid stones)

Is this thought process correct? Thanks!

Cholecystitis
...Dx: 1st RUQ US --> Best HIDA Scan
...Tx: IVF + Analgesia + NPO...cholecystectomy

Choledocolithiasis
...Dx: 1st RUS US --> Best ERCP (and tx)
...Tx: ERCP, and then eventually Cholecystectomy

Cholangitis
...Dx: 1st RUS --> Best ERCP (and tx)
...Tx: ERCP, and then eventually cholecystectomy


Nephrolithiasis
...Dx: 1st and Best: CT scan unless pregnant, then U/S
...Tx: Size dependent
.........<5mm Pass on its own (IVF, Analgesia)
.........<3cm Lithotripsy
.........>3cm Surgery (Nephrostomy)
 
@brain - Thanks for breaking that down. Were there UW questions that reviewed, discussed and covered that step by step approach/scenario? I haven't gotten to that area yet from my subject-tutor sessions.

I'm hoping that the bank is enough for this and "more" based on <2* month time constraints and class. I just posted my concern about that in the CK experiences section and caught this post which makes me wonder if I need something else.

I did a lot more than UWorld. I also happened to be studying for the rest of my career (I'm in medicine).
