IMG graduation issue...

Most IMGs from India and Pakistan do internship in their home country after graduation. Then usually they do 1 or 2 years of specialization and after visa problems, it almost takes them to around 4 or 5 years after graduation.....I have heard that most programs accept applicants within 5 year range, it means these IMGs are already ineligible from many many programs...its absurd from an IMG point of view....
One more point. I have seen some programs saying GRADUATION DATE MUST BE UNDER 5 YEARS..but other programs say GRADUATION DATE UNDER 5 YEAR IS PREFERABLE...tell me whether programs may become lenient on graduation date matter????
If u have connections, can a 6 year old graduate enter in that program?

That may be the case in your POV, but programs are under no obligation to accept trainees from other countries, "visa problem or not". Also bear in mind that a fully trained physician may actually be a liability to a program who wishes to train someone in their own manner.

drsunnyking...programs may or may not be "lenient" on the "5 year rule". That is up to the program and the applicant. For some the rules may be bent and for others it will not. If you have connections and a program is inclined to bent the rules, they may do so. This is an unaswerable question as every program and every situation will be different.
