Immunology

I don't think it will make or break you. It will help, but if you have something else you would rather take, or by taking immuno you will be spread too thin, skip it.

I had an immunology class in undergrad and it was incredibly difficult compared to the immunology I faced in dental school. Although it may vary depending on the school, I don't think taking Immunology in undergrad to help me for dental school was a valid reason to take the class. YMMV.🙂

Yeah I agree..it wont hurt, but it wont necessarily make or break how you do in your immuno courses in dschool. As was said, it maybe be easier or harder depending on how its taught at your school...I only took it in undergrad b/c I wanted to add another A to my sci. gpa from an upper level bio course. I regret not taking micro though..i hear that class can be tough (at least here)..and i've never taken it 😱

How important is it to have immunology before dental school? Is it worth to take it?

In my opinion, it is not worth taking as an undergrad. I took it because my major required it and I agree with all who say that the undergrad version is tougher. The class I took was not an easy "A" and I had to bust my a$$ (mostly write-up questions, drawing diagrams, no multiple guess). However, your undergrad course may or may not reflect the one I took. Of course, our immuno in d-school was part of our micro course and only accounted for one exam; so it really was a diminished return in my situation.
