Impact of gap year plans?

I plan on relaxing a bit my gap year. I will volunteer around 20 hrs per week, explore hobbies and travel for 2 months.

Is this ok?

As long as there isn't anything glaringly missing from your app (clinical experience, shadowing, etc.), then go ahead and relax!

I did research for 6 months which allowed me to save money while I applied to medical school. Once I applied, I packed a tent in my car and camped in most states west of the Mississippi. I brought it up on the interviews, i didn't hurt me at all as far as I know.
