I'm wondering if any of you have any insight on the importance of having balanced DAT scores. Do you think it really matters if say an applicant has a 21 AA with all scores +/- 1 from 21 versus a 21 AA with maybe a 29 in one section and two sections of 17? Curious to know what you all think.

is this person you?

Obviously the student who is 21 +/- 1 all across the board looks better. As he or she is competitive in all areas. Plus you give the adcom less of a reason to harp on when they have to decide between two people. You know you what I mean. I obviously have no clue what their criteria would be but i just take it like having two things you like but you can only choose one. the thing that gives you less reason not to like it wins.

but getting a 21 AA and a 29 on another section doesn't mean you look like crap or anything. it impressive you're certainly not a slouch .

it really all depends on what you got 17s in.

some schools PAT is important and 17 might be low to them. some schools don't mind too much about a 17 in math. so its really not a big deal.

from the file some schools are lame and say everything is very important. I'm guess they didn't want to answer the survey while some schools are somewhat more honest.
