So I'm about 4 and a half weeks until my test and I kind of have a plan for at least the next week and a half to focus most of my time on doing Destroyer problems from each of the sciences. I'd like to get as many opinions as I can about dedicating this time to the destroyer as opposed to maybe rewatching Chad's/using the plethora of Kaplan's online sources I have from their course. Basically I just want to know how key Destroyer is/was in your test preparation? Thanks

I'm doing DAT Destroyer Bio, Quantitative Reasoning and Math and then using Chad's quizzes for O.C and Chem prep. Destroyer is a little over the top with O.C and Chem in my opinion.

My DAT is next Thursday.

I agree it is over the top in that questions are likely much harder, but as I've gone through it so far I can kind of recognize the problems that are probably never going to show up and those that might. To me it's like the harder versions of questions we might see on the DAT. For example, more steps in synthesis questions, having to understand 3-4 different concepts to answer one question rather than just 1-2, etc. Also, for O chem I really just don't like the way the structures are drawn out as opposed to how chad does it, but it's good to be familiar with both I guess. All this being said, however, without having taken the DAT before which is why I ask about it on SDN. Thanks for your response.

One of the best resources in Destroyer I think is the road maps. I whited out the answers and try to go through a few of the road maps per day before I do any questions. Also I agree with jwan14 there are some questions that are ridiculous (naming bridge head carbons WTF!) but just do them and read over the solution but don't try to waste to much time understanding topics like that. I just finished going through it a second time and it went a lot better than the first time.

I have been using the destroyer and I have never been so confident in taking this test. It has shown me drastic results in practice tests. It has been especially helpful for me in orgo.

I heard on a few other SDN posts that some questions on the real DAT were exactly pulled out from the destroyer. But I've also heard that destroyer was overkill but good for improving your score (like above 20's).
