Just wondering, how much weight do PD's place on the step 2 cs when applying for residencies in path?

Do they need to have a result before considering for an interview?

Does a fail really hurt your chances, being that path really isn't a patient interactive specialty??

Any help appreciated!

😕😕

Pretty sure there are threads around about this already. This and/or some of the other steps.

Every program is different. In general I wouldn't expect a program to need CS results to interview. Any fail is going to hurt, but a CS fail (with subsequent pass) is going to hurt less than some other fails. It's still a marker of not being able to get through what you know you need to get through, whether it's for academic or communication reasons.

Not sure how strictly enforced it is, but the Freida website lists which programs offer interviews only with, and those without needing step 2.

you can get an interview without taking it, but many programs will not rank you without a passing score. if i remember correctly, you need to take it by oct/nov to get your score by january. if you are asking about importance of passing/failing...obviously a failing score is a big red flag. look up the other posts...this was talked about not too long ago. good luck

You'll get interviews without a CS score, but, as trailblaze stated, you may not be ranked without a passing score. I took the exam in December and I got my score back in time.
