I've been receiving supplementary applications from certain dental schools that require essay questions. Of course, I want my answers to be well written but a lot of times, they have a short limit. For example, Boston's essay question is limited to 1000 characters.

My question is, how important are these secondary questions? I'm not talking about the secondary applications that are mailed out to only select people but the apps that are standard and mailed out to all applicants. If my answer is not the same quality as my personal statement, is that ok? I've spent a lot of time trying to write answers but now I feel that I should just hurry up and submit them.

Thanks guys!

I would recommend that you take a few days to write out these supplemental essays and re edit them kind of like your personal statement. You are representing yourself in everything you submit to them. If they notice you wrote a killer personal statement but your other essays weak, it will show that you didn't care to take your time to answer their supplemental essays. Put all your effort into everything you do during this application process because it will determine your future and you'd rather not regret something just because "you wanted to hurry and submit". Plus, i'm pretty sure submitting 2-3 days later especially this early in the game shouldn't affect your chances at an interview.

Boston's essay question? When did they send you the supplemental application?

I shouldn't really call it an essay. It was just a short form where you wrote in basically 5 or 6 sentences why BU is the right choice for you and where you also paid the fee. I got it a week or so after my AADSAS was mailed.
