I am not sure how familiar eveyone here is with the Official DAT process that is going on this year, but here is an update that will hopefully keep people from having to run around through hoops like I did to figure out what is going on.
- Basically here is the story. Starting this year, the DAT scores attatched to the AADSAS application are now official. This means that AADSAS accepting schools will have your official scores sent along with your application. This sounds great but it raises one problem that I think is very important.
UNLESS YOU PREVIOUSLY RELEASED YOUR SCORES TO YOUR DESIGNATED SCHOOLS, AADSAS WILL NOT SEND SCORES TO THESE SCHOOLS AND THEY WILL NOT RECIEVE THE SCORES.
This is extremely important, because when I contacted some schools, they informed me that the only way they will acccept offical scores is through AADSAS, not in paper form from the ADA.
The good news is that once you go online to the ADA website and pay $25 dollars per school on an electronic request, AADSAS will automatically update your released school list, and as I now understand it, send them out.
If you have any questions you can try to reach out to AADSAS or ADA, but both are really bogged down with calls, and both get pretty upset if you ask too many questions. I think they assume everyone will automatically just know that this is all going on?
Anyways I hope that this helps at least someone out there!
