Hi.

I need your wise opinions. So, 2/3 of my LOR's are in (including one from my home school's anesthesia department). I'm waiting for one from my away rotation (they extended an interview today, but I've yet to get my letter from the director-wierd). I have an extra letter from a non-anesthesiologist (good letter, plus I honored the rotation). Do you think that I should
1. Assign the non-anesthesia letter to my anesthesia programs and just forget about the outside-rotation letter? It'll mean that I'll have two non-anesthesia letters (both from rotations that I honored and worked closely with the directors) and one anesthesia letter.

2. Assign the non-anesthesia letter, delete the name for the outside leter and just re-assign it later if it comes in?

3.OR just wait it out with only 2/3 letters for another week or so? My fear with this is that some programs might not extend an interview without all of the letters in.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

You can submit 4 letters to each program, so I would just take the non-anesthesia letter, and keep the one from your away rotation on your "uploaded documents" and then whenever you get that one, you can send it too for a total of 4, but if it takes too long or you never get it, at least you have your 3 required ones. just my opinion!

Agree with txdoc. Get the three you have in (again assuming you can rely on the evaluators to write you good letters) then assign the fourth later. You NEED to get the application process complete ASAP to be competitive this year for the desirable programs.

Along the same lines of LoR's...

Do we need a Letter of Rec from the chairman??? I have one from the PD of my home school but none from chairmen. 😕

Look forward to any help...

Thank you so much

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and assigned the non-anesthesia letter, so now my application to complete.
