I read a blog that said that an individual used lumosity to improve their MCAT score. Lumosity is an online program that allows you to 'improve your brain health' using a series of games and activities. I did their free trial but never looked further into it. Thoughts? Did anyone try this? Did you see an improvement?

The secret to improving your brain is using your brain. Repetition and mnemonic devices. Taking the time to think through what you're reading. And then read it again. Plus sleep. An internet brain enhancing service won't do much.

👍

Additionally, be sure to eat healthy. Lot's of slower burning carbs, fruits, veggies, fish, nuts, etc. Avoid junk food. Physical exerciser is also key to memory formation. Try walking 1/2 hour per day to stimulate the mind. It's okay to drink a little coffee for a boost too.....just don't over do it. Lastly, don't was time with internet memory games.....you'll be better off memorizing the Krebs cycle or something else related to bcmp.

Don't forget to masturbate or have frequent sex, as regular sexual activity has shown good health consequences.

Lol, and don't memorize the Krebs cycle. That is a waste of time.

lol. Well said GreenStyle.

I actually used lumosity for a bit around the same time I was studying for the MCAT. Dunno if it helped, but the games they have are quite a bit of fun. Try signing up for a free account and then keep creating new free accounts when that one runs out. That way you can enjoy the site and not have to pay for it. You wont get all the games but you get a good amount.

There are cheaper ways to give your brain a workout. Play chess, count Fibonacci numbers instead of sheep. try writing with your non-dominant hand, etc. I also doubt a lot of claims out there...
