Hey guys, do any of you have advice on how I can increase my reading speed for exams and ultimately for boards? I almost never finish an exam early and I usually submit my exams as the allotted time runs out. Several of my classmates can finish in less than 1/2 the given time, and I'm amazed and how they're able to read through all the questions and review so quickly. My reading speed has always been on the slower end and I'm afraid this may negatively impact be when preparing for boards.

I'm of the opinion that reading speed is separate from testing speed, though related. The only way to really get faster at reading is to read more. You can do the tricks and methods online which can help a bit but practicing by reading more will help the most I think. Testing speed is a bit different. Like the poster above me said, learning how to quickly find the important info in a question stem and not waste time rereading the meaningless info is huge and once you get better at that, the speed of your testing will go up.
