In a Rock Band: File that under employment?

I played sax and sang backup vocals in a dave matthews cover/rock band. In med school apps, would you say that was employment (because we got paid) or extracurricular? I don't have much room under extracurriculars, so that probably forces my hand. Would it be a poor choice to put this under previous employment?

It would be considered employment (you were an independent contractor).

If you are getting paid for it then it would be considered employment.

Yes... if you received income from it... it's employment... if it was only for enjoyment/ec you can probably still add it on there somewhere. It is definitely a unique addition to your app.
