I called many pharmacies in my area asking for pharmacy clerk openings...

Many of them said they don't have openings now, but I can still fax my resume...and they gave me a fax number....

Some said that I can send my resume....and gave me a fax number (not necessarily saying that there are no openings)

Would it be better to send faxes or would I be more likely to get a possible job if I give the resume in person??

Definitely go in person. It shows that you truly want a job, and are committed to finding one. Before my job as a Pharmacy Tech I had no pharmacy experience and my resume wasn't the best, but because I went in and talked to them it showed what my resume couldn't. Also, don't give up--I applied 3 or 4 times and went in to talk to them a couple times before I was hired, but as soon as a position opened up I was hired immediately. It's hard to get into a Pharmacy, but the hard work will pay off. Good Luck!

how bad do you need the job? is this for money or for experience? like do you need this job to pay your bills or you want it for experience? if you not worried about paying bills i would first definitely go in person and try to talk to the manager or the person in charge of hiring. tell them you are even willing to work one day a week or just a couple of hours if they don't have openings. after you get hired and work more, it's a lot easier to move yourself into the rotation more or even try to transfer to another location that has more hours for you.
