In need of comprehesive advice. Apply this year? Next?

I think applying in September is a big disadvantage. I would wait one year and strengthen your application. If you really, really want to apply this year, go for it.

I was in the same exact predicament last year. This is totally your call, as it is a split decision. I scored 4 points lower on my MCAT than my AAMCs. Your MCAT is better, My EC's are better, about the same GPA. I applied broadly and was accepted to 2 MD and 3 DO programs. It really all depends on where you live also. If youre in California, probably a retake. Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas? Youre probably alright. You could retake and wait a year, or just go for the gold and if you dont hear anything by next February/March, study for 3 months and retake the MCAT in late May and be early again next cycle. Just apply smartly and I think youll be ok.

Why wait until August for the retake? If it was a random fluke then why not just retake ASAP?

Because its been a month I'm in school until 6/13 working a part-time job and doing research + 12 credits. I don't have any free time. It's a flue yeah but still a verbal of 8 or 9 is just average I should aim for better than average.

If you're not going to retake it ASAP, then I would wait a year rather than apply late.
