I posted this in the thread, but it seemed to get buried, so I figure I would give it another shot here.

If people who receive interview invites could post some stats (GPA, GRE, years of research, any major accomplishments), I believe it could really help other applicants understand our competition, the applicant pool, etc.

Also, is anyone else still waiting to hear back from any schools? From previous years threads, it seems my schools do not start contacting students for around 3 more weeks. Just wondering if anyone was in the same boat.

I think most people are still waiting to hear back from most schools they applied to. Only 3 of 13 schools I applied to have notified anybody of anything that I am aware of, and I strongly suspect that one of those was just a single individual being contacted, not indicative of the program contacting those who they are interviewing (also, individual POI's may contact students at different times, so it doesn't always mean something if somebody else was contacted). It's still very early in the process.

Additionally, people may want to keep their privacy and posting that type of information could identify them (on the small off chance that a POI or professor are on here. You never know). Personal advice, try not to compare yourself to others at this point in the game, you'll just drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out when every program (and professor at each program for that matter) is looking at different aspects.

But yeah,(repeating what QAsPsych said) still pretty early in the process. Most schools haven't contacted anyone yet (and not many will in the next few weeks due to holidays). Only 2 of 10 the ten school I applied to have notified anybody (at least that I'm aware of at this point). Just try to relax (as best as you can) at the moment.

I definitely realize the risks of posting stats, but I would say that due to the seemingly low # of students that POI's may contact, they would be able to identify the student regardless of stats. But I do realize this a risk - it was just a suggestion if fellow applicants were willing.

Each school has to post a certain number of stats. I imagine those would be infinitely more helpful than the scattershot you would get here. I would also argue that SDN is a qualitatively different sample than the applicant pool as a whole.
