so rumors have it that in general, in-state students have a better chance of getting into a pharmacy school compared to out-of-state students. is this true?

also, i was wondering how good or horrible financial aid (particularly grants) is offered to pharmacy students.

From what I heard, this is true but schools do save a certain amt of spots for out of state students.

Yes, in general I think this is true. But if you want to get a better idea of what percent each school is accepting out of state you can either 1) look at the AACP website or 2) look at the school's statistics on their own website. Many school post this information on their admissions pages under statistics.

Im not really sure about the grant situation. My guess is that grants are given based on academic performance in most cases.

This is generally true, especially with public/state-funded schools (private schools are a little less so). The preference generally goes:

1. In state students
2. Students from states without accredited programs
3. Other Out of state students
4. Foreign students

Some schools don't even accept apps from out-of-state or foreign students,

That being said, you should never NOT apply to a school just because you are from a different state. At my UW interview, none of the four of us being interviewed were from Washington.

UF only accepted 6 students from out of state this year. They said that you pretty much have to have perfect grades/scores to get in if you're out of state. UF is a state school which has a lot to do with it.
