As a lowly PGY1, I certainly don't have any hands-on experience with EMG, but I thought I'd share this new study in "European Neurology".

Just wondering if any physiatrists out there are doing SFEMG.

It seems to be falling a little by the wayside and only used in cases where there is high clinical suspicion and maybe normal rep stim on NCV. Needles are pretty expensive and it takes a LOOONG time to do.

Very few do it. We had one give us a lecture on it in residency, but we never did any ourselves. I don't do it.
