So I'm getting credit for the research I'm doing under the department of the professor who runs the lab (in my case, molecular and cellular bio). That is, it shows up as an MCB class on my report card and factors into my GPA. Will this transfer to my transcript to med school as a science class (or any class at all)?

So you want to get med school credit for a class you took as an undergrad?

..what?

I'm just wondering if med schools will factor it into the GPA they calculate for me since it's not a real class.

My bad, I thought you where talking about your Mschool transcript.

If you are getting credit for it, it should.

As someone who took three hours of college credit for independent research and got letter grades for all three, yes, this will factor into your GPA.
