Hi! I am having a difficult choice figuring out where to attend. I got accepted into 3 schools (IU, ASDOH, MWU IL) and I've been able to narrow it down to IU and ASDOH. Unfortunately the interview for IU was virtual so the only exposure to the school has been the virtual tours and any information I can gather from the internet.

I am a Texas resident so both Indianapolis and Mesa are pretty far for me, thus proximity to home isn't a deciding factor (neither is weather.) Another thing to note is I will be going to Indiana's Second Look Event in a few weeks. However, any insight into these programs would be much appreciated!

INDIANA
-can't figure out if they still have problem based learning in the curriculum
-graded scale
-great emphasis on research
-unsure if patients are provided

ASDOH
-the overall vibe during interview day was IMMACULATE! I really enjoyed my time visiting the area
-pass/fail
-early clinic exposure, D1's are assisting!
-external rotations
-patients are provided by the school

TLDR; I don't know enough about Indiana to make a final decision and I know IU is a great school so I would like to be open-minded!

what's the total cost of attendance at each school?

Per year, ASDOH is estimated to be around 140K a year (tuition and fees is 113K). IU is estimated to be around 100K a year (tuition and fees is 79K).

Should I make a decision strictly on cost alone?

in a few weeks?
is it before or after jan 13?

January 13th is the deadline! So I have 48 hours after the second look event in Indianapolis to make my decision.

that should be enough time

your question was, "Should I make a decision strictly on cost alone?"
i cannot tell you what to do, but a 40% difference is life changing
think about it this way, if you can become financially free in 30 years from IU, it will take you 42 years from ASDOH
if you want to retire in 40 years from IU, it will take 56 years from ASDOH
and that's BEFORE interest accrual is taken into account...
