The Indiana University Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Program will have two One-Year Non Categorical Internships available, from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. The program is designed to allow recent dental graduates or those completing a general practice residency a chance to gain greater experience in Dentoalveolar Surgery and other hospital surgical activities. This is an excellent opportunity for those individuals who wish to apply for a residency position in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery the following year.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Intern will participate in all aspects of the service including:
Dentoalveolar Surgery
Ambulatory Anesthesia
Trauma
Orthognathic and Reconstructive Surgery
H&N Oncology
Interns will also participate in clinic coverage, on call coverage, ER, OR and inpatient management of OMFS patients. Interns will also attend and participate in all didactic departmental conferences.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Intern at Indiana University will function at the PGY-1 level with on-call activities and opportunities for operating room cases. Oral and Maxillofacial Interns also participate in the didactic program that serves the residents in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The salary is $55, 771.00 (PGY-1) plus health benefits, malpractice insurance, 3 weeks of paid vacation and free meals while on-call.
Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, most recent dental school transcript, national dental board scores (Part I and II), NBME/CBSE Score, three letters of recommendation, letter of intent, and a recent photo.
