Anyone know anything about the status of Indiana's interview selection? My AADSAS changed to "The application has been received and is being processed for consideration of an invitation to interview." The longest thing ever written in AADSAS. Intense! Are they waiting for fall grades right now or will they give out invites?

i received an email from them about 3 wks after i turned in my AADSAS app...nd i received an offer for interview about a month after that (on my bday actually!!!!) nd it was for Nov 13th...the last before pre-Dec acceptance...good luck!!!!

You have not seen the longest thing written on AADSAS

Thank you for Applying to Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Your application has been received and it is currently being reviewed by the committee. At this stage we are determining if your application is eligible for interview. Generally, interviewed candidates have an overall cumulative GPA both total and science of a 3.2 or above and their DAT academic average and total science is at 19 or above. This is a general guide; many other factors come into our consideration of a candidate: community service, experience in dentistry, motivation toward dentistry, letters of recommendation, applicant essay, credit hours/course load and competitiveness of undergraduate institution, etc. Your application may remain in this status throughout the entire cycle as we continually review it against the total applicant pool. We will contact you as soon as any further decision has been made regarding your application. We have a lengthy review process and ask for your patience during this time.

DrReo I will one up you,

Note: Information about your application status is provided online as a convenience. While every effort is made to be timely and accurate, information conveyed by electronic means is unofficial. An official written notification of admission will be mailed to your preferred address. Please do not act on any information until you have received official notification. It is with regret I must tell you that the Admissions Committee cannot offer you a place in the 2008 DMD entering class. Please understand that we considered your application carefully and that our decision was not an easy one. It is clear that the overwhelming majority of our applicants are outstanding young women and men, people who we know are fully capable of performing well at the professional level. The sheer volume of applicants means we can admit only a small percentage of the students who apply. This task was exceptionally difficult this year due to the unusual strength and size of our applicant pool. You may wonder what was lacking in your application. For most applicants, the honest answer is nothing. Like most students who applied, you have put much effort into doing well in school, made significant contributions in your extracurricular activities and worked hard to balance the many demands on your time. Each applicant was carefully evaluated. We found it extremely challenging to distinguish among the many exceptional students who would flourish here. We thank you for your interest in the College of Dentistry. We wish you all the success we know you are capable of as you pursue your education. Sincerely, Venita J. Sposetti, DMD Assistant Dean, Admissions & Financial Aid

I think they are saying that they have seen or received longer quotes on AADSAS than the one that Indiana posts.

That WHOLE thing was on AADSAS. That would drive me nuts I am really glad its not on mine. I like the short concise statements. Case: Application Denied. Not a sugar coated paragraph of why they didn't pick me. It's like a long, drawn out break-up.
